Service entrance questions
Is a service upgrade the same as a panel replacement?
Not always. A panel replacement changes the distribution equipment inside the building. A full service upgrade can also involve the meter equipment, service conductors and utility-side coordination.
How do I know if I need more capacity?
A load assessment compares the existing service with the home’s current and planned electrical demand. It may show that the existing service is sufficient or that load management is another option.
